Taking Every Step Toward Better Schools

Every day, I walk the neighborhoods of Area 3 with my dogs. Along the way, I pass the schools that are at the heart of our community. These walks give me the opportunity to appreciate our schools, our neighborhoods, and the families who call our community home.

  • Listening on the ground
  • Leading in our schools
  • Serving our community
Robert Schweers is dedicated to serving the Pleasant Valley School District and ensuring educational excellence.
My wife, Christine, is an educator at Los Primeros School of Sciences and Arts (LPSSA), and my daughter, Emily, is an educator at Pleasant Valley School of Engineering and Arts (PVSEA). That connection has given me an even greater appreciation for the dedication our educators bring to their classrooms every day. I believe decisions made by the Board should always consider the people who are affected by those decisions - especially our students and the teachers and staff who work with them every day.
PVSD is Personal to Me
A trustee should listen before making decisions.
I want parents, teachers, staff, students,, and community members to know that their concerns will be heard. That means being accessible, asking questions, visiting our schools, listening to different perspectives, and taking the time to understand an issue before making a decision.
Listening to Our Community
New ideas should not be about change for the sake of change. They should be evaluated by asking a simple question:
How can this help our students, support our educators, and strengthen our schools?
Bringing New Ideas
If elected to serve as the Area 3 trustee, I will bring four principles to the work:
LISTEN - Hear from the people who live and work in our community.LEARN - Understand the facts, challenges, and different perspectives.LEAD - Establish clear priorities and long-term plans.ACT - Follow through, measure results, & accountability
